The 4th kit is the Quaich Flask Kit This kit includes a beautifully engraved hip flask and two drinking cups in an elegant presentation box. The flask is also supplied full of mead or other alcohol. In ancient times both the Celtic people and the Norse or Viking people would have toasted their union in marriage with an alcoholic drink. The couple would have shared a drink from a hollowed-out cow horn and once they had both taken a drink the marriage was legal. Over the years among the Celtic people the cow horn evolved into the Quaich Cup, a two handled loving cup and the Quaich Flask, a beautifully engraved hip flask , both of which can be personalised with Celtic symbols, the couple’s names and their wedding date, and even the location of their wedding ceremony. Basically the order of the wedding ceremony is something which the bride and groom will agree with the celebrant, or other person who conducts the ceremony, and marries the happy couple. Mutual toasting from the ceremonial Quaich Flask can be done either just before, or just after, the couple say their vows to each other. The celebrant takes the Quaich flask and pours a measure from the flask into each of the cups which are then handed to the couple to toast each other and seal their love with a shared drink from the flask. The contents of the flask would traditionally have been the ancient drink of mead, an alcohol distilled from honey or whiskey distilled from malted barley. The price for this kit is €60 Further information
